We run diagnostics on these computers to ensure maximum performance and the Linksys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL Router allows maximum connectivity, network sharing, and superb efficiency giving us more flexibility and 0% downtime on the local network. A patch cable runs from the Linksys to an uplink port on our DLink 809-TP hub providing 8, 10Mb ports for quick network access for multiple PC's at our soft/hardware repair station. With 3 available 100Mb ports on the Linksys after the hub connection, a Playstation 2 occupies one of them for breaks and stress relief. The other two are direct lines to an internal network server and a audio production computer. We are very happy with both of these products! The router has a built-in switch, DHCP server and firewall. The option to configure a DMZ host is also a great feature and has been very useful for security testing purposes. The key with our network topography was to allow for easy network expansion. From the router we could add more hubs, or even a micro repeater, ethernet to BNC converter to allow highspeed interconnectivity even with older machines requiring a bus network.
