Audiovox PDA-1032 Review

Audiovox PDA-1032

The Audiovox PDA-1032 is actually made by Toshiba, but is usually packaged with a phone for a highly discounted price. It can usually be picked up for cheap on online auction sites, such as eBay.

Pros:

This Pocket PC has many features, such as a full color screen, Microphone, IR port, 5 way directional pad, and CompactFlash AND Secure Digital slots. The dual card slots offer a lot of functionality, since it enables use of a compactflash modem and a memory card at the same time. This is much unlike many other Pocket PC's which usually offer only one slot. The screen is quite bright, and can be adjusted according to battery life. It also features a stereo headphone jack for playback, if the mono speaker is not wanted to be used. This is very handy for listening to mp3's on the go, with the built in Windows Media Player. For customization, the side panels can be changed to fit the color of your mood.

Cons:

This Pocket PC also has some downsides. Battery life isn't always the best, if the frontlight is on full brightness. If the frontlight is off, about 6 hrs. battery life can be expected. The 5-way pad on the front is, at first, hard to get used to. It has to be pushed all the way to one side to register as a direction.

Overall:

Overall, I would give this PDA an 8.5/10. It's definitely worth the money if you don't mind a lower-end PDA with Pocket PC 2002.
