| Toyota is introducing an all-new Camry for 2007. Gone is the Camry criticized as stodgy and plain. The new one features aerodynamic new styling that shows more vigor and life than we've come to expect from a car many have labeled, and not kindly, Japan's Buick.
The 2007 Toyota Camry is thoroughly revamped, re-worked and upgraded from the tires to the roof, from the front bumper to the back, from the dashboard to the trunk. Inside is a new, airy interior. The engines are more powerful, the transmissions more diverse. And across the line, the new models are more fuel efficient.
The 2007 Toyota Camry is powered by either a 158-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission, or a 268-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard features for the Camry SE include a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, a 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with an auxiliary audio jack, 16-inch wheels, seven airbags, a vehicle immobilizer and four-wheel disc brakes.
The Camry LE adds an in-key remote keyless entry and eight-way-adjustable power driver's seat while the XLE adds dual-zone automatic climate controlled, a premium 440-watt JBL audio system with Bluetooth for hands-free calling, wood-style trim, moonroof, rear reclining seats, fog lights, 16-inch aluminum wheels and standard leather seats for the XLE V6. The SE offers sportier performance with firmer springs, anti-roll bars, shocks and bushings plus a body kit that positions the car 0.4-inches lower than other Camry trims.
All 2007 Camrys are better equipped than last year. Even the lowest priced CE model comes standard with four wheel disc brakes and ABS (Antilock Brake System) as well as a full complement of air bags including front seat mounted side air bags and front and rear curtain bags for head protection. There is even a knee airbag for the driver. Other standard features on all Camrys include tilt and telescoping steering column, automatic on-off halogen headlamps, 16 inch wheels, and a six speaker 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with an auxiliary jack for your iPod. The rear seats are split 60-40 and fold down to expand the trunk space into the back seat. The CE is only available with the 4 cylinder engine and either 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission.
