| The SL10 and SJ20 have a 33 MHz Dragonball VZ processor that's fast enough for the average user's needs. The SL 10 has 8 megs of internal memory, which is enough to store a heck of a lot of contacts, appointments and notes, along with some 3rd party apps and Word/Excel docs. The SJ20 has a more roomy 16 megs, which is great if you want to install a lot of additional programs. If you find you need more room, you can store docs and apps that are expansion-card friendly to optional Memory Sticks. Like past Clié PDAs, the unit is expandable via Sony's Memory Stick technology. These are tiny stick-shaped removable memory cards already used in some Sony digital cameras, and supported by newer Sony VAIO notebooks. The only reason I parted with it was because it lacked sound playback. Even the monochrome screen I could have handled in the long run, but I needed to be able to play music and other sound files. The memory expansion is limited only by the size of the Memory Stick you could afford. Access times were quite acceptable, and I had loaded up Oliver Tree's Bible Software (with 5 versions of the Bible), AvantGo, Adobe Reader and about 50Mb of files, an eBook reader, a plethora of games and other stuff I can't seem to recall at this point. The infrared port was superior in quality and range to other Palm units I had previously owned and using the SL10 as a remote control for my VHS, TV, satellite receiver and sound system was entirely feasible. I could control those devices with about 2/3 of the range the standard remote controls had. You have most probably already perused the specs for this device so Ì will not bore you with them. Allow me only to say that if I had to go back to a PalmOS based device (I currently use a BlackBerry from work), I would not hesitate to seek out another Sony product. The added software included with the handheld are very useful. Factures: Display: 320 x 320 pixels, grayscale display.
