Fujitsu P1610 review

Fujitsu P1610

Fujitsu P1610Fujitsu Computer Systems announced the LifeBook P1610 Tablet PC, a 2.2-pound computer with an 8.9-inch touch screen display. Fujitsu LifeBook P1610 is powered by the Intel Core Solo ultra-low voltage U1400 Processor and available with Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 or Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

According to the press release, the P1610’s 8.9-inch WXGA indoor/outdoor display has a backlight which illuminates the screen in indoor lighting. In outdoor lighting, a reflective surface within the LCD takes advantage of the sunlight to make the screen even brighter. “If the outside light is bright enough, users can turn off the backlight completely, dramatically extending the battery life, Fujitsu published.

The LifeBook P1610 measures 9 inches wide, 6.5 inches deep (7.5 inches with the optional extended-life battery), and 1.3 inches thick. At 2.2 pounds, it's by far one of the smallest and lightest convertible tablets we've seen; the (also small) Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet weighs 1.8 pounds more, while the keyboard-free Samsung Q1 ultramobile weighs a scant 1.7 pounds. With its candy-bar-sized AC adapter, the Fujitsu LifeBook P1610 hits the road at a featherweight 2.9 pounds.
