|  The Fujifilm FinePix F30 Zoom is the world’s first digital compact camera to deliver ISO 3200 sensitivity at full resolution. This means that it can give sharp images, even at night-time, or with fast-moving subjects. Users are able to produce sharp images with minimal noise, no subject blurring and atmospheric lighting in dark conditions. In addition, the FinePix F30 Zoom has 15 new scene modes from underwater, beach and snow, to sunset, party and fireworks. These make it easier than ever for users to experiment with photography in a range of different lighting conditions.
The Fujinon lens starts at 36mm and extends to 108mm for a total optical zoom of 3x, which should prove enough for most purposes. Flipping the mode wheel gives you access to an unusually broad array of manual modes, which makes the F30 ideal for those looking to inject a little more creativity into their shots and to advance their technical skills. You can adjust either the shutter speed or the aperture (although not both for the same shot).
Best-quality images weigh in at a resolution of 2848 x 2136 and about 3MB, and the F30 excels at producing images for A4 prints, even with a touch of cropping. Detail is resolved reasonably well, although best-quality JPEG compression is a little high for our liking, which means that printing at 100 percent is best avoided. Chromatic aberrations in high-contrast scenes were pleasingly low-key, and the F30 coped well in most outdoor conditions.
The FinePix F30 Zoom showcases a new ‘intelligent flash’ system which uses the camera’s exceptional sensitivity to combine natural foreground illumination with balanced exposure in the background. Avoiding both the messy background blur of ‘slow-sync’ flash, and the stark contrast of conventional flash, this will bring your after-hours photography to life.
Thanks to its 500-shot battery life, the FinePix F30 is an indispensable compact for when photographers are out and about, with enough power to make sure you never miss out on capturing the action.
