Cluster Knoppix is an excellent distribution for anyone interested in building their own "homemade" cluster. It allows you to boot a group of networked machines off of a cd, and begin swapping processes immediately. Cluster Knoppix uses the openMosix kernel patches for it's clustering abilities. It also provides a set of tools that allow you to monitor what's going on in your cluster. Cluster Knoppix is very easy to use. Upon boot-up, each machine automaticly detects other openMosix machines on the network, which means that you don't have to do any configuration. |
