| Asus have announced the new Asus Z801, a super cool looking mobile phone with chess-board styled phone keys and Sapphire Quartz mirrored surface. The Z801, although sounding like an old '80s home computer, looks glorious, and comes with 2 megapixel camera, 260k colour QVGA screen, MP3 player, tri-band connectivity, A2DP.
Dig a little deeper and you'll find some software that enables voice dialing, a dictaphone function, and support for QR Code - a system similar to barcode used commonly in Japan for sending information like URLs and contact details. If you let your eyes wander away from the screen you'll no doubt notice the phone's "Sapphire Quartz" mirrored finish, the black and white checkered keypad design, and a standard external LCD for caller ID or an analog clock face.
The Z801 comes with 2 megapixel camera with a resolution of 1600 × 1200 pixels, white balance and the usual camera features, plus video camera. It also comes with a dictaphone function, and support for QR Code (below, left), which is a mobile-specific bar code that lets you buy things through your mobile phone.
