| The Dual PC Modem contains a V.92 modem and a DHCP server. That component assigns IP addresses to the connected PCs and performs network address translation, so that multiple PCs can share the Internet connection. Installation is simple. Connect the Dual PC Modem to your phone line, plug in Ethernet cables to each of your PCs, and you're ready to begin a very simple setup process. If you want to use the modem with your wireless notebook or device, you can plug in a wireless access point to one of the Ethernet ports and share your dial-up network wirelessly. To configure the unit, you merely point your browser at the IP address of the Dual PC Modem (provided in the quick start guide) and fill in your log-on name, password, and the phone number of your ISP. You can also perform all these steps with a setup wizard walking you through the process and testing the connection for you. The Dual PC Modem supports dial on demand (DOD). When you type in a Web address, the modem automatically dials your service provider and makes the connection. Unfortunately, in many cases, the Web page will time out before the modem has finished connecting to your ISP. To avoid this problem, you can use a system tray utility to connect and disconnect to your ISP manually. General Specifications -
