I bought this motherboard for a windows XP box. It worked perfect out of the box. Great on board extras: 2 NIC's-one gigabit-one 10/100, 6 channel audio, SATA, Wi-Fi, 6USB, 2 IEEE 1394. Outstanding BIOS, although my neighbor experienced BIOS death twice with this board I have had no problems. I run windows XP on this machine and have heard of problems with the Nforce2 chipset and linux although, knoppix seems to run fine on it.
