2007 Lincoln MKX

Corsavan ConceptThe all-new 2007 Lincoln MKX is arriving in Fall of 2006. This exciting new vehicle is the first ever crossover from Lincoln and has a distinctive, breathtaking design, as well as all of the amenities you would expect to find on a Lincoln.

The 2007 MKX won't be a luxo version of the Ford Explorer, as the Aviator was, but switches to the Fusion sedan's unibody architecture, which also underpins the new Ford Edge crossover. The MKX (concept version shown) will be powered by FoMoCo's fresh 250-horse, 3.5-liter V-6 and the new 6F six-speed automatic codeveloped with GM. Ford designed the new V-6 to accommodate direct injection and turbocharging and the six-speed to handle up to 300 horses and 280 pound-feet of torque.

Lincoln MKX’s modern identity is given by its comfortable and elegant interior. Its interior is the quietest one. In addition to conventional sound-absorbing techniques such as thicker dash pad, laminated windshield and thicker side glass, Lincoln MKX blends unique materials for further reduction in road noise. A constrained-layer barrier is fused to the rear wheel houses, and sound-deadening material is welded behind exterior trim panels.

The interior design is offered by a sweeping panel flowing into a clean, well-organized center stack. The door panels are made of wood and satin. Interior controls are bathed in Lincoln’s cool-white light for a pleasing nighttime cabin experience.

Removable dividers in the center console allow customers adapt their storage space for anything from laptop computers to handbags and CDs. The center console is also featured with an available concealed power point and an MP3 audio jack. The console can be also provided with a phone and MP3 player cords
